Hotfix 2 Improves Lobbies, Invites, and Voice Startup

Hotfix 2 was announced on Steam on October 16, 2026. It targets the first-day friction around joining friends, speech recognition, custom caller voices, and caller editing.

Multiplayer And Invites

Join by Code now accepts Steam invite links as well as codes. Invalid codes produce an error message, so a failed join is easier to distinguish from an expired or mistyped code.

The official notes also specify lobbies for one to eight players and corrected enforcement of those limits. This is a limit-enforcement fix, not an increase to the maximum lobby size.

Public lobby searches received improved filters and a My version first sorting option. Matches using your version appear higher in the list, but the notes do not promise cross-version compatibility.

Voice And Caller Fixes

The hotfix reduces speech-recognition delays and adds filtering for spurious music captions. Typed dialogue remains available as an alternative input.

Caller voices received separate fixes for a stall while loading voices and for memory use while loading custom caller voices. The notes do not quantify either improvement.

A Qwen3 startup problem that could block caller input was also fixed. Troubleshooting messages are clearer, and the notes repeat that Qwen3 can be disabled if it runs too slowly. AI failures and temporary usage restrictions now appear as status messages instead of fabricated caller dialogue.

Caller Editing And Browser

Character Creator now opens directly into caller creation. To edit an existing caller, use Daily Callers. The separate Localize Voice buttons were removed.

The in-game browser adds a privacy confirmation before it opens or is restored. Leaving the in-game computer closes its browser session. This is an in-game session control, not a general privacy guarantee.
